CONHECIMENTO DE LEIGOS SOBRE A CONDUTA EMERGENCIAL FRENTE À AVULSÃO DENTAL

Resumo

O prognóstico da avulsão dental depende de uma conduta correta e imediata, o qual pessoas leigas podem estar envolvidas no momento do acidente. Objetivo: Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar o grau de conhecimento dos visitantes do Museu Dinâmico Interdisciplinar (Maringá - PR, Brasil), em relação aos primeiros socorros frente à avulsão dental. Material e métodos: Foi aplicado um questionário com perguntas de múltipla escolha. Os dados foram tabulados e submetidos à análise estatística (Qui-quadrado, p<0,05). Resultados: Dos 220 questionários, 63,6% eram do gênero feminino. Mais da metade (66%) dos entrevistados nunca ouviram falar sobre traumatismo dental. O reimplante imediato foi sugerido por apenas 12% do total de respondentes. O meio de transporte e o tempo extra-alveolar mais sugeridos foram enrolado em papel (42%) e mais de 2 h (41,4%), respectivamente. Foi observada correlação entre o maior nível de formação e resposta correta (p=0,027). Conclusão: Portanto, esses dados reforçam a necessidade de inserir na comunidade informações relevantes sobre a conduta emergencial frente à avulsão dental, por meio de campanhas educativas visando o público leigo e minimizando sequelas negativas.
