Abstract

This article aims to deepen the study of the relationships around the issue of local political power on the premise that it is a reflection of partisan political actions and local power, as well as to understand how the conflicts and agreements happened in the political elite in Irati – PR, between  1988 and 2008, election periods, marked by the effervescence in the relations of local power. This time frame is also justified by the changes occurred in the history of local politics and other scales. For this, it will be discussed in this brief essay the concepts of local power and local political power and also the importance of political analysis in geographical science. It will also be presented some preliminary data, aiming to strengthen the conceptual basis to be used for further development of this research.
