Abstract

This article was developed with a view to identifying the difficulties of educators regarding the teaching of geography and the inclusion of blind students in region of Great Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The survey showed that the difficulties in the presence of a blind student in the classroom are real barriers in the school inclusion of students with educational special needs (ESN). Teachers are faced with problem situations involve personal factors, socio-political, technical and pedagogical, and including epistemological. Therefore, there is much to be done for schools investigated the Great Florianópolis effectively be prepared for inclusion. The transformation and improvement of these schools are unavoidable because students with ESN as part of the school context, which is currently inclusion “happen” in consequence.
