Abstract

It is observed in cities, in general, the differences expressed in social ownership and social production of space, processes normally observed in large and medium cities. In this article we analyze from the local scale, the case of the small town Farol and their social differences, making a social process inherent in the capitalist system of production. Social indicators were considered available and other elements that allow the apprehension of this differentiation through the landscape, such as afforestation site, paving, occurring with greater intensity in areas inhabited by higher income population. In addition to the landscape that exposes the social difference, is still considered the urban morphology of the Farol, looking to this, the city's Master Plan. Additionally, data obtained from the IBGE and interviews with the government of the city, confirmed the social differences manifested in the city and the resulting residential segregation. It is the authentic expression of social difference characterized by residential segregation even in a small town such as Farol.
