Characterization of plaza of San Jose dos Campos - SP: a qualitative-quantitative survey

Abstract

The objective of this research is to map, quantify and qualify the streets of Sao Jose dos Campos - SP, according to their equipment and structures, and analyze the distribution and availability to the population. We conducted a study of 65 Public Squares located in geographic regions, Central, North, South, East, South and West of the city's urban fabric. The information contained in this research were obtained through literature search, mapping, assessment, and qualitative and quantitative fieldwork. It was used as a tool for this study, remote sensing products, such as QuickBird satellite images, obtained in 2008 and a GIS (Geographic Information System), to carry out the thematic mapping. It is noteworthy that the 65 squares evaluated, four squares were classified as excellent, meaning that It has access to equipment and people.
