Family routines and rituals: possibilities for caring

Abstract

This is an article of reflection with the aim on describing possibilities of use of the theoretical framework of Family Rituals and Routines, in the family nursing. As a methodology, the selection of articles through electronic databases was used from the following keywords: family routines, family rituals and rituals. Results indicate a close connection on family rituals and routines to the family cycle, and also, individual development, especially, on children. Nursing studies are needed to further investigate methods and tools for the investigation of family rituals and routines that promote advances in the practice of taking care of families.
