Ethical conflicts in the revelation of information – part I

Abstract

The objective of the present research is to describe and analyze the nurses' moral judgments, identifying the argumentative bases in the way they reflect and formulate such judgments. It was based on a case study about the occultation of information from a woman assisted in the health care center. It is a qualitative study, developed in the municipal district of Maringá-PR, with a sample of 28 nurses that worked as a teacher, in the hospital attendance and in the public health service. Through the thematic analysis of the data, the Right of Information was described and, in the group, the respondents based their justifications on the normative and deontological ethics, alternating, in some moments, with the consequential and caring ethics.
