Abstract

The present study is the result of a conclusion essay on the Philosophy in Nursing subject, Doctor’s Degree in Nursing Course. It contains reflections based on the debates during classes and deepened in complementary readings. It has as main objective questioning the value of philosophy for nursing and giving the perception that the philosophical thought leads us to search, question more, and that the essence of any philosophical question is that it may not be presented as the only truth. In this study, philosophy’s three main elements: onthology, epistemology and ethics guided the reflections.
