Vibration can be an etiological factor for some diseases related to work. It can occur in the whole body or just in the hands, causing damages to the health. The present study has the purpose to identify in the national and international literature who are the workers exposed to the vibration, the risk factors and the possible consequences for their health. The systematized bibliographical research was accomplished through national and international data basis in the period from 1995 to 2007. It was verified that the workers exposed to that type of physical agent perform activities in varied segments, mainly in the industry and in the transportation, and that the consequences for those workers' health are insidious and, sometimes, irreversible. The lesions in the skeletal muscle, vascular and nervous peripheral system are the ones of greater relevance.Downloads
