One aimed to know the feelings of mothers that experience the mother-kangaroo method, during the hospitalization period in the mother-kangaroo infirmary and contribute to the Nursing Team, aiming a better perception of adversities faced by mothers in this infirmary. Developed in the Mother-kangaroo Infirmary of a School-Maternity, in Fortaleza-CE, in the period of October to November, 2006. A semi-structured interview with guiding questions was applied. From that, the following themes emerged: knowledge, care, receptivity and caress. It was observed that the mothers consider the Kangaroo method represents an opportunity of learning how to care for their babies and that bonding is relevant and helps in the baby’s recovery. It becomes highly important to the Nursing professionals this caring and welcoming posture, thus optimizing, the care to the mother-son binomial.Downloads
