Abstract

Report of the construction of a reference mark for the nursing care of users of a Basic Health Unit of a municipal district of the metropolitan area of Curitiba. It was carried out in the second semester of 2006, as part of the Supporting Practice Experience subject in the Nursing Master’s degree course at Federal University of Paraná. The study had the participation of a nurse and nine nursing auxiliaries. As theoretical reference was used the principles of the Theory of Humanistic Nursing from Paterson and Zderad. The proposal was developed in four meetings and for its undertaking the problematical methodology was used. There was the construction of a reference mark with human being's concepts, nursing, care, humanized care and community. The results proposed by the participants represent a progress in the way of conceiving the care even though it contradicts the existentialist conception of the used referential, because it reflects a care to the user of BHU centered in biological aspects. There was still, upon request of the subjects, a scientific updating regarding the themes of arterial hypertension and diabetes. At the end of the meetings, it was summed up that this mark would aid the construction of a service protocol for humanized care to chronic diseases bearers who where users of the Unit of Health.
