Abstract

Regarding the workers who act in the Material and Sterilization Center (MSC), mainly in the activities performed at the purge (place where the cleaning of the material that was used in the patient is accomplished), one of the most important preventive measures on the exposition to biological risks is the use of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs). This epidemiological-ecological study, aimed at to show the feelings of the professionals who work at the MSC of Londrina – Paraná State, while using the PPEs. Took part in the study 100 MSC workers from six hospitals of Londrina, who answered a form with opened and closed questions. The study showed that 55% of the workers have negative feelings, and 40% have positive feelings regarding the use of PPS. As a positive feeling it was noticed the fact that the PPE is a form of protection. The discomfort and unpleasant look were the negative ones.
