Abstract
This article aims to portray the profile of pesticide poisoning reported to the 11th Regional Health Division of the State of Paraná, in the period 1997 to 2006, from exploratory descriptive study with retrospective analysis of epidemiological records of Occurrence Toxicological and chips individual Research of pesticide Poisoning. For the data processing software was used Excel 2003, and analyze to descriptive statistics. We analyzed 425 cases in the period, and poisoning were more prevalent in males 75.3% (320), aged 15 to 49 years 83% (353), with 54% (231) of intoxicated by assigning as farmers. The condition most prevalent were suicide attempts with 208 (49%) cases, followed by the occupational exposure of 179 (42.1%) cases. The result of this study can contribute for guide actions related to the care and planning of health from the use of pesticides, since the high incidence of poisoning found suggests preventive strategies with respect to the use of these products, especially with in order to restrict indiscriminate access to these powerful toxic agents.Downloads
