Abstract
Exploratory-descriptive study, qualitative, whose goal is to understand the experience of family caregivers in the practice of patient care in the home chronically dependent. The subjects consisted of the family caregivers of patients dependent on chronic, in a city of northwest Paraná, a total of 11 caregivers. Data collection took place in May 2011, at home the patient through a script for interviews. The statements analyzed, six categories emerged: Disease and the caregiver's own negligence care, transportation difficulties coupled with financial difficulties, the gender issue in care; Lack of technical knowledge and the influence of religiosity; caregiver's emotional stress, physical overload. We conclude that patient's care home chronic-dependent adults, requires dedication, effort, responsibility, and consequently, some obstacles. The family is an important player in the care and attention of the health team and he should be seen to compromise, providing guidelines and minimizing the difficulties of care. Assistance to the caregiver can reflect positively on the health of the person who requires care.Downloads
