Abstract
The present study is of a descriptive and conceptive nature, and was developed from research produced in the Assistance models, paradigm, and Knowing/Doing in Nursing line of research. It had as objective to describe the results of all research developed in this line of research, as well as to sketch the conception of a caring model for HIV-positive patients from the knowledge already evidenced. All research was conducted between 1992 and 2005, totaling six studies – all supported by the National Council for Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq). After careful reading of the final reports for each research study and the resulting scientific production from each one, data analysis was conducted, grouping the resulting content relative to the practice of caring for the HIV-positive person, aiming the conception of a model. Those studies indicate premises directed towards the necessity of knowing the reality of the HIV-positive human being, his/her complexity, completeness and needs, in order to better promote quality of life and health, in an interdisciplinary manner.Downloads
