Abstract

The article analyzes and reports a pedagogic experience directed to junior and senior students of Dentistry from a University of São Paulo. The course was characterized as an intensive training in Family Health, having as a referential the methodology of the problematics by Freire (1996). At the end of the course, the students answered a semi-structured questionnaire registering his/her perception regarding the differences, advantages and disadvantages of the use of the traditional teaching approach used throughout the undergraduate course and of the pedagogic model used in the this particular course. It was concluded that the methodology of problematics is a pedagogic approach that allows an active learning, a dialectic relationship among students and between teacher-student, besides enlarging the vision of the social and professional reality.
