Reducible causes of perinatal deaths in three brazilian cities
Keywords:
Perinatal mortality, Reducible obits.
Abstract
The precarious conditions of perinatal health in Brazil must be explained from the quality of the assistance and of the life conditions of the population. In order to compare the distribution and the frequency of reducible deaths among the cities named, Maringá, Paiçandu and Sarandi, it was used a classification proposed by the SEADE Foundation to group perinatal obits in children born in 1994 in hospital of the three cities and still living there. From 113 perinatal obits, 67,2% would be reducible; 16,8%, partially reducible. The proportion and distribution of the reducible in the dormitory cities, as well in the probability of death found there, show socio-economic differences of their populations when compared with the population from Maringá, and also in the quality of motherly-assistance provided by the health services.Downloads
