Abstract
The health home care is a wide spreading therapeutic modality in Brazil. This study aimed to describe the nurse's work in health home care, based on family caregivers’ view. This is a qualitative case-study, conducted within a home care service in a university hospital in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Data was produced between November and December 2007 through interview with the family caregivers and analyzed according to theme analysis. The results evidenced a greater interaction of nurses with patients and their families in AD in relation to the hospital, once such professionals explain the rendered care in an accessible way so that family members feel safe to reproduce it and organize the home in a way to influence positively in the patient recovery. This research contributes to advance discussions on possibilities for better nursing practices in HC.Downloads
