Abstract
The parturition process is a unique and essential moment in the psychosocial life of a woman. It can be experienced by each one in a singular way since it is influenced by her life experiences and by the habits of her culture. However, in a few situations, the delivery can be considered an abrupt process on which one do not have control and which is characterized by irreversible and unforeseeable situations, besides a lack of knowledge. With the institutionalization of the delivery, women became submitted to a vulnerable to an interventionist practice which does not give priority to humanization and to the singularities of the human being. The study aims at a critical reflection about the care given to a woman with an unexpected behavior by the professionals during delivery. It is an experience report from a practice in healthcare. Considering delivery and the act of taking care of the delivery as singular moments for the woman is an issue to be worked on with the professionals. For such purpose, moments of discussions are needed in order to stimulate, support, prioritize and implement a change of posture, of re-education of the care practices and of appraising reasoning and sensitivity, intrinsic factors of the care given to the woman during delivery.Downloads
