Abstract
The health education contributes for the development of the awareness, stimulating the search for solutions of health problems on a personal or community basis. This paper aims to analyze, according to the nurse perceptions, the practices of Health Education applied to the Tuberculosis control in Family Health Units in the city of João Pessoa-PB: It uses a qualitative approach, based on a semi-structured questionnaire as instrument of data collection. Eight nurses were interviewed as a sample whose results were analyzed by Analysis of Content technique, specifically the thematic modality approach. The main finds included lack of planning; insufficient professional qualification; inadequacy of physical structure of the Health Unit and insufficient educational resources. Thus, it is crucial the commitment and political support of the local managers in order to favor education to promote health and citizenship.Downloads
