Abstract
The objective of this research was to identify, describe and analyze scientific articles on the costs of nursing high education programs. A bibliographical review on the data basis CAPES site, on the Health Virtual Library, OVID and EMBASE in English, Portuguese and Spanish, published between 1980 and December 2007 was carried out. Results showed that there was no consensus, between the authors, in determining the costs or on the models to estimate costs. The cost components had been categorized in direct, indirect and institutional costs although they have been used with different names. It was concluded that few studies have been done on the costs of nursing education and each researcher used a different cost methodology. It was emphasized the importance of new researches under this theme so that administrators could have their area costs knowledge and could also discuss firmly about foreseen budget and expenditures.Downloads
