By means of Content Analysis, thematic category we identified four categories after the analysing of their content, namely: The concept of home visit; Benefits and advantages of the home visit; Difficulties and weaknesses of the home visit and Nursing educational practice in home visits (HV). The concepts of home visit presented by authors were diverse. The main benefits of the visit are related to the link between the health team and the community. Difficulties reported by authors referred mainly to the lack of training. Nursing health educational practice is effective at the visits.
