The journey to the after-life in the city of Braga of the XVIII century: the experience of the “last hours” in the terrestrial world
Abstract
This article, based on our broaderwork of doctoral investigation about the experience of deat hand the soul salvation in the Braga ofthe XVIII century, wants to expose and analyse what were the regular and spiritual procedures that marked the “journey” of the inhabitants of Braga, in the XVIII century, from this to the otherworld. The data obtained came from the analisis of the “Sinodal Bracarensis Constitutions” published in 1697, as well as a sample of 250 local testaments from the XVIII century and also the documental sources from some brotherhoods.Downloads
