Road to Piñango. A strange bread to eat in freedom
Abstract
With ethnographic scribe's tools and walking straight, I tried to descend to the roots of Piñango, Mérida, Venezuela. Seven days and nights in a wasteland where thinking makes you dizzy. I walked in confusion through philosophies of liberation. Wondering if I really walked the paths I name. How many times will I ask: What is the essence and future of our people? A man passes by with a scarf on his shoulder, another trembles from the cold, coughs, and spits blood...others ask for a strange bread to eat in freedom. I have written more than is appropriate to write, by virtue of the grace of the short and fictional essay.
