É possível mensurar a influência de Aristóteles sobre Alexandre, o Grande? Fontes antigas e historiadores modernos entre especulação e crítica histórica
Abstract
Este artigo examina os relatos antigos sobre a interação entre Aristóteles e Alexandre que servem de base para a interpretação laudatória de dois historiadores dedicados à análise da vida do rei: Robin Lane Fox (1973) e Peter Green (1991). Para tanto, esta investigação está dividida em três etapas. Em primeiro, introduz-se o tema de pesquisa a partir de premissas importantes quanto ao que é sabido sobre a vida de ambos, filósofo e rei. Em seguida, explora-se dois dos mais influentes comentários historiográficos a respeito da interação deles. Finalmente, analisa-se o relato de Plutarco consultado por esses historiadores.
