UMA NOTA SOBRE OS PROGRAMAS DE RENDA: ENTRE RENDA MÍNIMA E RENDA UNIVERSAL, O BRASIL NA ENCRUZILHADA
Abstract
This article discusses the challenges of income programs in Brazil. To this end, it starts from a historical rescue of the
income programs in force in the Brazilian economy, passing through the emergency basic income program adopted
during the pandemic, in 2020, and ending with a discussion about the future of social policies in Brazil. The main
conclusions are that choosing income policies for the 21st century, which will increase the well-being and socio-economic security of Brazilians, in line with the growing access to quality public goods and in the necessary scope, free
and universal, they undergo the reformulation of our social protection system, which implies not accepting structural
changes that are being carried out in a timely, superficial way, against the social contract that is still valid.
