Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between cost, performance and structure of different elementary school units of the city of Rolândia/PR. The study is quantitative and descriptive developing a survey in the city of Rolândia/PR. For the analysis of the data, is used descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. As a result, it appears that there are asymmetries at the relation cost/student existing among the surveyed schools, being necessary to conduct further studies to investigate possible causes of these differences. Furthermore, it is noted that schools with the greatest cost / student don't necessarily showed the best performance in the Basic Education Development Index [IDEB]. Another finding of the study, revealed by correlation analysis, is that more experienced teachers can extract a better student learning. It should be noted that this work is an initial effort in order to develop mechanisms with municipalities to better management of public services.
