Abstract

Discussing the current facts of health services in Brazil can became something simple and hard at the same time, due to the complexity of the services rendered and also to the biological type of people who are using them. Thus, this text aims at bringing up a discussion on private health services, focusing on the additional medical assistance, that is, the health insurance plans, once many professionals are dropping out their service for them. At the same time, a new economical view of the heath area is presented, especially the main changes in the financial management in the  rendering of those services. However, I believe that geography can perform an important role in the discussions about the new directions of the health services in Brazil. For this reason, the tool chosen to analyse the matter was the territorial approach. Therefore, this analysis could not disregard the attentive reading of the territory and its impact on the health services, which is a primary topic for the understanding of this aspect in the current reality.
