Abstract

Human activities are great responsible for changes in the land use and occupation in the last few years. That way, determining the use and coverage has become a significant tool benefit to the orientation and decision making. The aim of this work is to map the land use and occupation and estimate the number of curve (CN) in the Watershed Matilde Cuê for the year 2013, located in the urban center southeastern portion of Marechal Cândido Rondon- Paraná. In the methodology was adopted the Remote Sensing as a tool for drawing up the use and occupation map and to estimate the number of curve we used a method developed by the Soil Conservation Service (SCS), the United States of America (1973). In general, there was a concentration of urban activities further north and basin center, topographically higher and flat areas. And in the southern sector there are country areas with temporary crops as the predominant activities (soybeans, corn, wheat, etc.), where it was found slopes with more evident declivities. Therefore, the type of use and the soil class directly influence the varying number of curve.
