Abstract

The present article aims to show the results of an investigation with three groups of participants, among them academics of the Undergraduate Course in Geography of the State University of Northern Paraná (UENP) (15 students from the first year and 15 from the fourth year) also 15 teachers from the Basic Education Network, linked to the Regional Center of Education of Cornélio Procópio in the State of Paraná. Its main objective was to understand how the aforementioned students and teachers understand Didactics from the following question: "What is the importance of Didactics for Teaching Geography?". The results showed an approximation of the answers given by the participants, with little variation in the way they explained, using expressions such as; "Didactics is the way or way of teaching". The idea of investigating the theme presented here arose in meetings of the researchers of the Geography and Interdisciplinarity Teaching Research Group, registered with the CNPq and that investigates curricular subjects that they consider important in the basic school and in the initial formation towards the Teaching of Geography.
