RURAL EDUCATION: ROTATION PEDAGOGY AND INTEGRATED EDUCATION
Abstract
A systematization of the discussions held during the 3rd International Colloquium of Social Science Education, which took place at the University of Minho (UMinho) in Braga, Portugal, is presented in this article. The educational process provided free of charge by the Presidente Tancredo Neves Rural Family House (CFR-PTN) was considered on this occasion. CFR-PTN is a technical professional secondary education institution that provides an Agriculture and Cattle-Raising Technical Course integrated with High School for the sons and daughters of family farmers from 69 rural communities in municipalities of the Southern Bahia Lowlands. It was linked to the conference topic “Childhood and Adolescence in Society and Contemporary Education”, highlighting the curricular support of this educational unit whose mission is contributing towards establishing young people in the countryside with quality of life. This text describes the institution`s educational process, and how to replicate its actions and methodologies. Therefore, in the current context of Brazilian rural education, a unique experience characterized as a successful educational center that meets the needs of the students and their families is observed at CFR-PTN.
