THE POLISH CULTURE IN GUARANI DAS MISSOES / RS: A PROPOSAL FOR AN INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE IN THE CLASSROOM

Abstract

Looking at culture, in the geographic scenario, constitutes one of the ways of interpreting the space reorganization, considering each group's social identity, their beliefs, ideas and values that produce and assemble unique peculiarities, which confer to spatial portions a peculiar character of cultural connotation. In this sense, this paper emphasizes issues related to the Polish immigration in Brazil, specifically the process of forming the city of Guarani das Missões / RS whose expression confers the title "Gaúchos Polish Capital". Thus, one tried to value the living space experienced by the students, selecting students who were in 5th grade of Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora Elementary School. A general objective of the research was to focus on analyzing the influence of the Polish Culture in the organization / reorganization of the space in the city Guarani das Missões by developing an interactive CD ROM, focusing on the educational practice. The specific objectives of this research are: (a) to check the process of ethno-cultural settling done by the polish people in Guarani das Missões as well as their spatial reorganization, through a multidimensional approach; (b) to analyze the expression and / or conservation of the Polish culture through the materialization of cultural codes; and (c) to develop an interactive CD highlighting the process of the Guarani das Missões formation, emphasizing its economic and cultural potential. Methodologically, beyond the theoretical framework of the studied theme, there was a collection of information on primary and secondary sources. The field work and the educational practices in the selected school helped to verify if the process of teaching and learning, mediated by the preparation of the interactive CD, which provides an alternative to educational practice through interactive technologies.
