Abstract

In the 1930´s, the modern garden was created by Roberto Burle Marx in Recife, Brazil. Casa Forte Garden, one of these first gardens, was recognized as Brazilian cultural heritage and historic garden since 2015. Its restoration process has started by 2011 and was concluded in 2014 bringing back the essence of the landscape designer idea associating a diversity of ecosystems. By including living beings in its composition, the conservation of a historic garden adds to the complexity of life cycle. In Casa Forte, the lack of conservation was changing garden landscape morphology and character. This paper presents the restoration process of Casa Forte Garden, which was developed according the Landscape Architecture Laboratory of the Federal University of Pernambuco methodology
