THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FIELD CLASS IN GEOGRAPHY UNDERGRADUATION
Abstract
ABSTRACT: The field class in the Geography Graduation is a methodology of great relevance, as it brings theory and practice together. The disciplines that use it find a way to instigate and motivate students to better understand the concepts seen in the classroom. Thus, the present work aims to demonstrate the importance of the geography field trip, based on the subject Domains of Brazilian Landscapes, offered in the Geography degree by the Regional University of Cariri (URCA). The work followed the steps taken in the course already mentioned, namely: i) the bibliographical survey (pre-field trip), ii) production of a field notebook (during the field trip) and, iii) presentation of the results of the field trip (post-field trip). During the field trip, it was possible to discuss various topics related to the physical aspects previously discussed in the classroom, such as: geomorphology, geology, vegetation, climate/microclimate and soils, in general and local characteristics. Thus, it is concluded that the geography field trip was an important practical complement for understanding the contents seen in the classroom.
