Abstract

The issue of mobility in the city of Maringá led public management to discuss ways to alleviate the precariousness of infrastructure. This process has driven studies that aim to provide data that support decision-making within the scope of planning (Prudêncio; Fillet 2012). In order to contribute to the improvement of the sector, the article aims to evaluate the quality of the sidewalks on Avenida Pedro Taques in the city of Maringá/PR. For this, it adopted the methodology of Oliveira (2018), which consists of observing morphological components of the road space, the dynamics of circulation, the functioning of traffic signs, etc. The results indicated the need to promote the improvement of local infrastructure in order to encourage walking, appropriation, sociability and quality of life. It is concluded that the stretch has aspects that impair the functioning of mobility on foot, such as conservation of the sidewalks, positioning of accessibility ramps, the characteristics of the facades, among others.

Diego Viera Ramos

Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pelo Centro de Ensino Superior de Maringá (2013) e mestrado em Engenharia Urbana pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2019). Atualmente é pesquisador - WRIBRASIL, professor titular do Centro Universitário Ingá (educação presencial e a distância) e doutorando em Geografia pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM). Tem experiência na área de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, com ênfase em Mobilidade Urbana, e atua em temas como mobilidade urbana, sustentabilidade urbana, acessibilidade urbana, planejamento urbano e Regional e Cidades Inteligentes.
