Weight training: effects on the body structure of young females
Abstract
Because of several health problems associated to excessive fat accumulation and to the lack of free time, both related to the modern standard of living, we suggested a low volume weight training protocol, as a method of intervention against fat accumulation. This study was performed with young females which used a 50 minutes training protocol, twice a week. The results showed reduction of 17% in the total sum of the skinfolds, in spite of significant increase in total body mass. At the end of the experiment we concluded that weight training, even with low duration and weekly frequency of only two days, is an efficient method to produce positive alterations in body structure.Downloads
