Unit of doctrine and pedagogy of physical education in the writings of Hollanda Loyola (1939-1944)

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the intellectual work of Hollanda Loyola, the most productive publisher of the magazine Educação Physica, in which he attended as technical director. The results showed: a) a strong defense of a united doctrine to Brazilian physical education; b) a discussion about gymnastic and sport pedagogic role in School physical education; c) the allocation of these two key-lectures in relation to some well known thesis in the research field of physical education history in Brazil.
