Keys to maximizing specialized movement skill development

The goal of this theorical reflection is to search the understanding of the acquisition of specialized movements’ abilities process. At first we should understand that the development of these abilities is based upon a combination of specific requirements of: the task demands, the biology of the individual and the conditions of the learning environment. Another point to highlight is that not reaching a mature pattern of basic movements has direct consequences in the individual’s specialized movement’s abilities. This way we understand that the transition phase is characterized by the individual’s attempt in refining his abilities; at the application phase the individual becames aware of his physical abilities and limitations; and at the application along lifetime phase, the individuals generally practice to compete or to participate in recreational activities. Concluding, in all phases the goal is the ability improvement through three emphases: the movement control; the emotional control and the pleasure in learning.Downloads
