The process which enabled the sportive teams to become companies was initiated by the promulgation of Zico’s law (93) and it had a strong advance with Pelé’s Law – in 1998. This study analyzed the profiles of the ten soccer teams who participated in the Brazilian Championship in 2001. This was a quantitative-descriptive study, as well as a field research with an empiric-scientific investigation. Data were collected by using a questionnaire. Association measures for qualitative variables were used to analyze the manager’s profile. The results showed that these managers are Catholic married men, they earn more than 25 minimum wages, have completed the primary school, and are, in average, 45.5 years old. Additionally, they are either public servants or businessmen who accumulate the attributions as managers of their clubs.Downloads
