The federal district’s teams sportive manager profile and its relations with the Brazilian sportive legislation

Abstract

The process which enabled the sportive teams to become companies was initiated by the promulgation of Zico’s law (93) and it had a strong advance with Pelé’s Law – in 1998. This study analyzed the profiles of the ten soccer teams who participated in the Brazilian Championship in 2001. This was a quantitative-descriptive study, as well as a field research with an empiric-scientific investigation. Data were collected by using a questionnaire. Association measures for qualitative variables were used to analyze the manager’s profile. The results showed that these managers are Catholic married men, they earn more than 25 minimum wages, have completed the primary school, and are, in average, 45.5 years old. Additionally, they are either public servants or businessmen who accumulate the attributions as managers of their clubs.

    Paulo Henrique Azevêdo é graduado em Educação Física. Concluiu o doutorado em Ciências da Saúde (2004) e mestrado em Administração (2002), pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB), onde é Professor Adjunto. Credenciado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação e Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Saúde, ambos da UnB. Atua na linha de pesquisa "Gestão e Marketing do Esporte". É líder do Grupo de Pesquisa CNPq Gestão e Marketing da Educação Física, Saúde, Esporte e Lazer , no CNPq e certificado pela UnB. Publicou 6 artigos em periódicos especializados, 02 capítulos de livro e 17 trabalhos em anais de eventos. Organizou e coordenou 17 eventos em nível internacional, regional e local. Compôs 01 banca de qualificação de doutorado e 03 bancas de mestrado.
