Abstract

Teaching in higher education requires involvement in various functions that may affect the perception of quality of life of this class of workers. The study aimed to determine the quality of life profiles of Physical Education teachers in Higher Education and to associate them with their personal and professional characteristics. 93 teachers from the Greater Florianópolis mesoregion participated. A characterization questionnaire and Whoqol-bref were used and Clusters analysis, Ward method and Kruskal Wallis, Friedman and Chi-Square tests were used. Three groups of teachers were identified: Group I presented more negative perception and lower scores in the whole construct of quality of life (no link with extension); Group II showed more positive perception and higher quality of life scores (extension action coordinators); Group III presented regular perception of the general evaluation and of the physical and psychological domains and intermediate scores when compared to the other groups (university extension collaborators).
