Abstract

The paper presents the conclusions from an experiment that aimed to evaluate a possible decline of the water infiltration in a sidewalk built with concrete pavers. A sidewalk with this kind of material is usually made of juxtaposed pieces and the gaps between them are filled with sand. The samples presented in this work were obtained for three types of sand, relative to the maximum size of their grains. The cited classification was made by means sieving. The experiment was carried out in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, where the soil is of kind Dystroferric Red Latosol. For the three treatments performed the data analysis showed that this sidewalk system loses much of its efficiency in a short time
