Aplicação de diferentes experiências gamificadas para inovar as aulas de bioquímica no ensino superior

Abstract

Teaching Biochemistry has several challenges in the early years of higher education, due to its complexity and abstraction in understanding molecular structures and phenomena, which can be obstacles to student learning. By the traditional method, in a digital and connected society, learning can be even more difficult, since it presents characteristics of content transmission and memorization, which limit the assimilation and understanding of complex chemical and biological processes. In this sense, the active methodology through gamification is gaining more and more space. The objective of this chapter is to demonstrate how different gamified experiences can be used to innovate Biochemistry classes. As a result, it appears that classes can be improved both by using some gamification resources to stimulate the performance of activities, such as scoring and rewards, and by creating games applied to the contents. Among them, board games, puzzles and didactic models stand out, which simulate schemes and propose challenges of the study objective. There is also the use of technological resources, such as applications and digital games, which make learning more interactive and connected among students. In this sense, it is possible to observe that gamification can be successfully used in the teaching of Biochemistry, innovating learning in the classroom, in a more interactive and fun way.
