About the Journal
Vitruvian Cogitationes – RVC (ISSN 2675-9616) is a journal of the Postgraduate Program in Education for Science and Mathematics at the State University of Maringá. Founded in 2020, the journal aims to disseminate scientific production in the field of Science Teaching, from an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspective (Art-Science, History and Epistemology, Learning and Teaching Theories, Content and Methods, etc.). The vitruvian cogitations or thoughts originate from De Architectura by Marcus Vitruvius Pollio (1st century BCE), which considers human proportions as a way of observing and measuring nature. Leonardo da Vinci’s reinterpretation of this in 1492 consolidated this enduring Renaissance spirit: interpreting the world through the lens of knowledge, its theoretical frameworks, and the construction of science with all its paradigms.
The journal is dedicated to publishing scientific articles derived from research related to Science Teaching, including the teaching and learning processes in the fields of Science, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and related areas. Therefore, the journal aims to contribute to the dissemination of research findings across different levels and modalities of education, ensuring open access to all published content. It is intended for researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, school and university teachers, and the general public interested in Science Teaching. It falls under the broad field of Humanities/Education.
