MCM-36 zeolite was prepared with initial Si/Al molar ratio of 50. The MCM-22 zeolite with Si/Al ratio of 50 was prepared for comparison. Both zeolites were characterized by several techniques: Chemical Analysis by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Textural Analysis by N2 and Ar Adsorption, Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) and Infrared Spectrometry (IR). The MCM-36 material is obtained from pillarization of the MCM-22 zeolite precursor material with Si. It was observed that pillarization process provided an increase of basal spacing from 27,5 to > 45 Å and of specific superficial area from 430 to 810m2/g. The MCM-36 material is formed by layers, with a porous system formed by sinusoidal channels of 10MR, separated by pillars that provide a formation of additional mesoporous in a range of 25 Å.Downloads
