This paper analyses the city plant of Maringá PR Brazil, comparing and contrasting it with the English design of a garden city. Analyzing the city plant of Maringá, the original idea of a garden city, the formal solutions applied in new English towns such as Letchworth and Hampstead, compiled by Raymond Unwin in his treatment of urban designs, the research forwards the influences, similarities and adjustments involved in the principles of the city type in Jorge de Macedo Vieira´s urban design for MaringáDownloads
