Comparative analysis of the riparian reforestation program in two municipalities the northwest of state of Parana - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v26i2.1886

Abstract

The aim of this work was to analysis the methodology used in the execution of the Florestas Municipais Program by means of interviews with the landowners who participate in the municipalities Astorga and Itambé. Concerning the riparian reforestation, it was questioned the reasons that prompted the landowners, the main difficulties found in its execution, and their views on environmental preservation. It was concluded that: the riparian reforestment program was successful in the numbers of planted trees; it was more successful respect to the environmental consciousness in the municipality of Itambé; the legal coercion accelerated the measures implementation intended to minimize the environmental degradation; the communication process between the executors of the program and the landowners was defective; the building of the environment consciousness responsibility is a process that needs environment education work; and the publics policies implemented in the environmental area should take in account the technical, social, and economic local parameters
