Abstract

The effects of bean plant chemical desiccation on seed storage quality were evaluated in this research. Paraquat (400g a.i/ha) and paraquat + diquat (250g a.i/ha + 150g a.i/ha) were applied, at the dose of 2L/ha of c.p. at 26, 29, 33 and 36 days after flowering (DAF). During storage (70% and 10±1ºC), germination (standard test), vigor (germination speed) and fungi occurrence were evaluated at zero, 60 and 120 days. No evidence of loss in the seed quality was found after the desiccation with paraquat and paraquat + diquat. In desiccation with seed moisture content of 37-26% (29-33 DAF) the stored seed high quality was maintained
