Abstract

The experiment was conducted in protected environment, within a research unit in irrigated agriculture of the State University of Maringá, state of Paraná. The purpose was to study the effect of different nutrient solutions applied on two outflows in the hidroponic production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa). The experimental design was entirely randomized, in factorial scheme 3x2 and with 3 replications. The treatments consisted of three nutrients solutions combined with two outflows of application in the canals of cultivation. In order to evaluate the effect of the treatments on crop growing, data were submitted to a variance analysis (Test F), and the results were evaluated through Tukey (5%) average test. The analysis of the results allowed to conclude that the interaction between the factors solution and the outflows was not significant and treatment S1 (CE = 1.2 dS m^-1) showed higher fresh biomass, larger diameter of the stem and lower dry biomass of root.
