“Beyond the human” – An adventure of evolution or repression?

This article questions the future of human evolution in light of technological development. Accordingly, it characterises the transhumanist movement, drawing on elements of science, philosophy and popular culture. In this sense, it also discusses the socio-economic system that humans have built, which threatens to have serious social and environmental consequences. The final considerations highlight points of convergence between living systems and technology. Given the dynamics of technological development and its intersections with the human being, society and nature, it is not easy to distinguish between the concepts of utopia and dystopia.
