Abstract

The present work aims at discussing the Impressionism in Raul Pompéia´s work. After revising the critical review on this question and analyzing the short story "O perfume dos bolos" (chosen because it presents many impressionist and/or symbolist traces), the article discourses on the reception of the Grimm Group landscape in Raul Pompéia´s chronicles. Results showed the presence of a romantic impressionism, possibly due to the dialogue with the landscape-painting brought into scene by the Brazilian artists

Possui graduação em Oceanologia pela Fundação Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (1988), graduação em Letras pela Fundação Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (1991), mestrado em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1994) e doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005). Atualmente é professor adjunto a da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Literatura e História/Sociedade, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Raul Pompéia, Romantismo, literatura e regionalismo, crítica literária, ensino de literatura e poética. Também é poeta e compositor-letrista Currículo Lattes
